These are east coast style bagels - denser and much chewier than what they call a brand name (like Sara Lee) "bagel" in a grocery store. Truly - not for the faint of tooth. As long as you like a real bagel, these are AMAZING. The flavor of the base dough is much less sourdough-y than the Spielman's that Alpenrose used to offer (which was also good, just always had the sourdough note). This garlic spinach flavor is a masterpiece. You can taste both elements but they are still subtle enough to be fully enjoyed. Not at all the way some garlic flavored products ring your doorbell and when you open the door they punch you right in the face. Very well done, Mr. Higgins.
