Recipe: Apple Sour Cream Cake

Apple Sour Cream Cake
What you need
- ½ cup Alpenrose Unsalted Butter
- 2 Stiebrs Farms Extra Large White Eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup Alpenrose Natural Sour Cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- ¼ tsp. salt
- 4 medium apples
- 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a 13x9 inch baking pan.
Peel, core, and chop the apples finely. Set aside.
Beat the butter and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until combined. Add the eggs and vanilla to the mixing bowl. Beat until light and fluffy. Sift the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt together. Add the mixture alternately with the sour cream
Beat mixture until the flour and sour cream are combined. Stir in the chopped apples.
Combine chopped nuts and cinnamon to make a topping.
Spread half of the batter into a greased pan. Sprinkle half of the topping over the batter. Place the remaining batter over the topping, and sprinkle with the remaining topping.
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
