Family owned and operated, Don Froylan Creamery is named after patriarch, Don Froylan of the Ochoa family who moved to Salem in the late 1990s. Unable to find any authentic Mexican cheeses at the time, they started the business out of their home kitchen with 10 gallons of milk each day. Though Don suddenly passed away in 2000, his family continued with his dream and opened their commercial creamery in 2003.
