The Alpenrose Velodrome is truly a unique facility, and one of only 20 bicycle racing tracks in the US. The Cadonau family originally built the track to host the 1967 National Championships. Since then, the Olympic size track has seen State, Regional, National and International Championships and Pan-Am Games Trials. The track has also hosted several International caliber championships, including the 1997 EDS Cup, 1998 World Masters Games, and the 1999-2007 Alpenrose Challenge. The track is used constantly during the summer months with weekly local racing, weekly instructional classes in addition to State Championships and the only Six-Day race in North America.
Through the years the Cadonau family has contributed greatly to providing sporting facilities for the community. This will be a unique opportunity for community members to participate with Alpenrose.
